Free Certification Training for Laid-off Workers
Recently laid off? If so, you know that unemployment funding barely covers current needs, let alone any training needed to get back into the workforce.
SolutionsIQ, working to offer affordable Agile training in Washington state, has teamed up with Washington State's CareerBridge. As an Eligible Training Provider, SolutionsIQ worker re-training can now be funded through state and federal workforce investment funds. Depending on the level of need, qualified, unemployed peoples may receive up to 100% of their Training free of charge, all monies funneling directly through their local Worksource office.
How Does it Work?
To qualify for the program, an individual must be:
- A resident of Washington state
- Currently unemployed due to a layoff (dislocated worker)
- Receiving Washington state unemployment dollars at the time of course registration
- Able to demonstrate the value of Agile/Scrum training to their career
Candidates meeting these requirements would then open a dialogue with their Worksource employment coach, pointing to SolutionsIQ's Eligible Training Provider listing. The coach will then determine how much funding would be available, and provide next steps.
Upon funding approval, students should reach out to SolutionsIQ Training Support for program registration.
How Much Funding is Provided by the Program?
The volume of "free" monies applied toward worker re-training is based upon perceived need and applicability to the individual's career aims.
Funding for this program originates directly from either Workforce Investment Act dollars (federally-based) or the Dislocated Worker program (state-based). These are fixed pools of funding, dedicated to worker re-training in the state of Washington.
