The Learning Gateway from Microsoft is a Web-based collaboration, communications and content delivery framework tailored for the education system. It enables teachers to manage their administrative workload, empowers students to learn at their own pace, and helps parents become more involved in their children’s education.

SHAREPOINT LEARNING KIT
SharePoint Learning Kit (SLK) provides the basic ability to assign, track and grade e-learning content to learners. SharePoint Learning Kit enables a rich experience for SCORM and Class Server content and provides basic distribution of electronic documents to students and final grade capability. Teachers can assign documents from a document library while students have the ability to interact with content. All content can be stored and leveraged for item level analysis and data reporting.

From a technical perspective, SharePoint Learning Kit scales automatically with SharePoint v3 and SharePoint Learning Kit was designed to use SharePoint document libraries as its content management interface. This platform allows for a framework where various educationally relevant Web parts can be added to design custom solutions meeting a number of needs specific to K-12. With Learning Gateway and SharePoint Learning Kit, Microsoft is continuing to build the foundation for the future of education.
