Scrum slang for someone who is responsible for doing a task on an active iteration. The term originates from the concept of how committed two animals, a chicken and a pig, are to making a breakfast of ham and eggs. The chicken provides the eggs and goes on to continue producing more eggs. The pig, however, has to sacrifice itself to provide the ham. In other words, the chicken isn’t as committed to the task at hand as the pig even if they do actively contribute to it.
